But now Macaulay Culkin appears to have found love again, with a mystery brunette who looks just like the Black Swan star.
The 33-year-old former child actor was spotted holding hands with the as-yet-unnamed lady in Paris a few days ago.
New love: Macaulay Culkin holds hands with a mystery brunette in Paris on Friday
Behind dark sunglasses, Culkin smiled fondly at the brunette, who wore her hair down straight and parted in the middle, much like Kunis.
Inside the terminal, the actor immediately went off in search of the red bloom to present to his girlfriend, an onlooker told Us Weekly.
Say it with flowers: Culkin presented his new beau with a rose in a plastic bottler of water at Orly airport
Casual couple: The actor sported a warm jacket, scarf, skinny jeans and boots for his outing
And Culkin seems to have mended his broken heart, 'smiling and joking' with his new lady, according to the source.
'Macaulay was looking great - nothing like the dishevelled character we've seen in recent years. He's clearly got his act together.'
Romantic: Culkin apparently wasted no time in purchasing a red rose for his love, which he placed in a plastic bottle of water
French resident: Culkin has apparently been residing in Paris with British rocker Pete Doherty
He has made friends with British rocker Pete Doherty, and was said to have stayed with him, according to various reports earlier this year.
'Macaulay loves it here,' the insider said to Us. 'He enjoys being with an extreme character like Pete, and Pete likes him a lot, too. They sit up all night talking about the arts over bottles of wine and putting the world to right. They have become great friends.'
Culkin, who shot to fame as a ten-year-old in hit film Home Alone, was reported to be in dire straits last year.
According to some reports, he was allegedly battling various 'drug addiction issues', as a shocking photograph of the star emerged showing him looking extremely thin while clutching a can of Red Bull in Manhattan last February.
Last August, The National Enquirer alleged that Macaulay had a $6000-a-month drug habit and that he was hooked on 'hillbilly heroin.'
But a spokeswoman for the actor branded the claims published as 'ridiculously fictitious' and 'insulting'.
Then a report from the National Enquirer back in May alleged he 'replaced drugs with a 60-a-day smoking habit.'
Culkin's representative denied MailOnline's request for a comment about the allegations at the time.
But in recent months, Culkin has looked much healthier, making a rare public appearance at New York Comic Con with the cast of Adult Swim cartoon Robot Chicken last October.
